The story

Russell spent 11 years as a working cowboy in Montana before he painted full time, and you can tell. This saloon-door shootout is exactly the kind of chaos he saw in cow towns.

About the photographer

1864–1926

Russell worked as a cowboy in Montana for eleven years before he painted full time. The saloon, the camp, and the hunt in this line come from that life.

The size you order is the photograph. A framed print adds a 2.5 inch mat and the moulding, so the outside is larger than the print. Canvas is the face size, with a 1.5 inch edge that does not add to the front.
