The story
A cattle camp and herd fill a high Colorado valley along the Cimarron, with riders, corrals, a wall tent and chuck wagons in the foreground. Spring and fall round-ups gathered cattle from neighboring ranges for branding and sorting, and the roping and riding skills they demanded became the events of modern rodeo. Detroit Photographic Co. made the color with the Swiss photochrom process, printing a black-and-white negative through a separate lithographic stone for each color.
