The story
In 1838, during the Second Seminole War, Major William Lauderdale’s Tennessee Volunteers built a fort on the New River. His name outlasted the fort. Frank Stranahan arrived in 1893 to run the ferry and a trading post; the railway reached the settlement on February 22, 1896, and Fort Lauderdale was incorporated on March 27, 1911.

Size guide
The size you order is the photograph. A framed print adds a 2.5 inch mat and the moulding, so the outside is larger than the print. Canvas is the face size, with a 1.5 inch edge that does not add to the front.
