The story

The caption on the glass negative is dated July 5, 1910, the day after the Fourth. Under the boardwalk at Coney Island, a young man and woman in knit bathing suits have given up and fallen asleep in the shade. The Bain News Service sold pictures like this to newspapers across the country.

Size guide

Sizes follow this picture. A framed print adds the mat and the moulding, so the outside is larger than the sheet. Canvas is the face size, with a 1.5 inch edge that does not add to the front.
